Aqvitox Flowfiber AG is an antimicrobial wound dressing with silver and a sterile non-woven fabric, which is composed of Ca alginate with a high content of mannuronic acid, CMC and silver ion complex and releases silver ions in the presence of wound fluid. As wound fluid is absorbed, the dressing forms a gel that aids autolytic debridgement while maintaining a moist environment for optimal wound healing and allows intact removal without damaging the healing tissue. The cover can also help reduce the odor of infected wounds due to its effective antimicrobial properties.
It is indicated for use in the treatment of the following moderately to severely erosive partial to full thickness skin wounds:
Post-operative wounds, traumatic wounds (dermal lesions, traumatic injuries or cuts), leg ulcers, pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, grafts and maternal surfaces, body cavity injuries, superficial and partial-thickness burns.
