This medicinal product is a traditional herbal medicinal product that is only registered for the stated areas of application because it has been used for many years.

If you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 5 days, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

Do not take BRONCHOSTOP cough lozenges if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to thyme or any member of the mint family or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6).

There are no known interactions with other drugs.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

In the absence of sufficient data, use during pregnancy and breast-feeding is not recommended.

BRONCHOSTOP cough lozenges contain fructose and sorbitol
This medicinal product contains 300 mg fructose and 523 mg sorbitol per lozenge. Sorbitol is a source of fructose.
Talk to your doctor before you (or your child) take/are given this medicine if your doctor has told you that you (or your child) have an intolerance to some sugars or if you have hereditary fructose intolerance (HFI) - a rare congenital disease in which fructose cannot be broken down - has been identified.
Note for diabetics: 1 lozenge corresponds to approx. 0.1 BE. This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes mellitus.

application

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is

Adults and adolescents from 12 years:
1 to 2 lozenges every 3 to 4 hours (4 to 6 times a day).

Children from 6 to 12 years:
1 lozenge 3 times a day.

Method of
administration For oral use (dissolve in mouth by sucking).

Duration of use
Self-treatment with BRONCHOSTOP cough lozenges should be limited to 5 days. If there is still no significant improvement, you should consult a doctor, as a more serious illness may be present.

Use in children under 6 years
of age Use in children under 6 years of age is not recommended due to insufficient data and medical advice should be sought. 

side effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Hypersensitivity reactions and gastrointestinal complaints have been observed with medicinal products containing thyme. The frequency of occurrence is not known. 

composition

The active ingredient is: thyme dry extract
1 lozenge contains 59.5 mg thyme dry extract (Thymi herba, drug-extract ratio 7-13: 1; extractant water)

The other ingredients are:
gum arabic (gum arabic E414), fructose, sorbitol (E420), maltodextrin, anhydrous citric acid (E330), sodium saccharin (E954), aronia flavor, wild berry flavor, paraffin thick liquid, bleached wax (E 901), purified water.
