Escapelle is an emergency contraceptive that can be used within 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected
intercourse or after the failure of your usual method of contraception.
These are, for example, the following cases:
- No method of contraception was used during sexual intercourse.
- The contraceptive has been used incorrectly or has failed (e.g. rupture, slipping or improper
use of a condom, erroneously terminated intermittent sexual intercourse with the ejection of semen into
the vagina or on the external genital organs).

Dosage and method of use

The orodispersible tablet should be removed with dry hands from the blister and placed on the tongue, where it dissolves and can be swallowed with saliva.
The orodispersible tablet can also be used in situations where liquids are not available. Take the tablet as soon as possible, preferably within 12 hours, but not later than 72 hours (3 days) after unprotected intercourse. After taking Escapelle, use the barrier method of contraception (condom) until the next menstruation.
Do not delay the use of Escapelle. The tablet is more effective the sooner you take it from unprotected intercourse. It can only protect you from becoming pregnant if you take it within 72 hours of unprotected intercourse.
