The strong effect against nail fungus is due to the water-soluble anti-fungal varnish Kitonail to a special varnish technology. This transports the active ingredient ciclopirox precisely into the inside of the nail. The application is very simple: There is no need to file the nails and use nail polish removers before the next application.
How does ciclopirox work?
Kitonail is a water-soluble anti-fungal varnish. The varnish contains the antifungal (antifungal) active ingredient ciclopirox. The broad-spectrum antifungal drug ciclopirox is effective against all major nail fungus pathogens1. Ciclopirox fights the fungi from the outside and inside at the same time compared to other active ingredients. Ciclopirox binds to the fungal cell wall, inhibits the uptake of components for the fungal cell and inhibits cell structure in the cell. So far, there are no known pathogen gaps or resistance for ciclopirox.

Another advantage of ciclopirox is that the active ingredient helps not only against living fungal cells, but also against the spores. These survive in the nail and can cause the infection to flare up again. Scientists have been able to prove in laboratory conditions on cell cultures that ciclopirox effectively kills the spores of three different types of filamentous fungi and one yeast fungus2. In addition to its powerful antifungal properties, ciclopirox is also antibacterial3 and anti-inflammatory1.
In clinical trials, scientists have also shown that the active ingredient ciclopirox is also well suited for the treatment of nail fungus in diabetics4.

Kitonail nail polish – how to apply it?
Thanks to the patented varnish technology, the application of Kitonail against nail fungus is particularly easy:
Apply Kitonail daily in the evening, leave on overnight - done.
An additional plus: Annoying filing of the nails and the application of solvents are now superfluous. And because you don't have to file your nails when treated with Kitonail, you don't spread infectious nail shavings in your bathroom anymore.

What's so special about the polish base in Kitonail nail polish?
The special polish technology of Kitonail nail polish is patented. The effectiveness of the coating base is based on the active ingredient hydroxypropyl chitosan (HPCH). HPCH is able to penetrate the nail and transport the active ingredient ciclopirox deep into the nail to the nail bed. As a result, a high concentration of active ingredients is achieved in the nail in a very short time. In addition to its property as a good carrier substance, HPCH is able to bind nail keratin. This fills the cavities in nails affected by nail fungus and strengthens their structure.

Method of application

Once a day. (in the evening) apply a thin layer to the diseased nail plate, to 5 mm of the surrounding skin area and, if possible, under the free edge of the nail. Healing of the fingernails after about 6 months, the toenails after 9-12 months. No data on children and adolescents.
