Antibiophilus 20 hard capsules

The bacteria (intestinal flora) that naturally live in the human intestine are of utmost importance for the normal functioning of intestinal activity and digestion. This intestinal flora consists of different types of bacteria that live in a balanced state with one another. Unusual or incorrect diet, infections, treatment with antibiotics or radiation treatment can disrupt this balance and result in diarrhea. A very important type of these germs that occur naturally in the human intestine are lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli). Antibiophilus contains a large number of viable lactic acid bacteria. By taking Antibiophilus, damaged or destroyed intestinal flora can be brought back to its natural balance.

Treatment of diarrhea of ​​various causes, especially diarrhea after treatment with antibiotics or after radiation treatment.
If you do not feel better after 2 days or even feel worse, if you have diarrhea with blood or a severe increase in temperature, contact your doctor.

Contraindications

Do not take Antibiophilus if you are allergic to Lactobacillus casei rhamnosus or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6). 

Interactions

Since the effect can be reduced by antibiotics, there should be a break of approx. 2 hours between the two doses.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
The lactic acid bacteria (lactobacilli) in Antibiophilus are natural intestinal inhabitants; use during pregnancy and breastfeeding is possible.

Antibiophilus contains lactose
One Antibiophilus capsule contains 0.05 g lactose monohydrate (milk sugar). Please only take Antibiophilus after consulting your doctor if you know that you suffer from a sugar intolerance. 

Application

Dosage for acute diarrhea:
Adults:
4 - 8 capsules daily, divided into 2 - 4 doses
Adolescents, children, small children: 2 - 4 capsules daily, divided into 2 doses
Infants (under 2 years): Use in conjunction with rehydration therapy . The use of Antibiophilus oral powder is recommended.
Children from 2 years: The treatment does not replace necessary rehydration therapy.

Dosage for chronic diarrhea:
Adults, adolescents, children, small children: 3 - 6 capsules daily, divided into 3 doses

Dosage in infants and premature babies: When administered orally, the use of Antibiophilus oral powder is recommended. Dosage for tube administration:
Birth weight of > 2000 g: 2 - 4 capsules daily, divided into at least 2 doses.
Birth weight of 1000 - 2000 g: 2 capsules daily, divided into at least 2 doses
. In severe cases, the dose can be increased. Antibiophilus oral powder is also available for administering higher doses.

Duration of application:
In general, a therapy period of approx. 10-14 days is sufficient. To effectively improve the symptoms of chronic illnesses, it can be used for up to 3 months.

Swallow the capsules whole with a little liquid.
It is recommended to take Antibiophilus between meals to keep the gastric transit time as short as possible.
