Can Batrafen antifungal nail polish be used during pregnancy or while breastfeeding? Due to a lack of experience, the use of Batrafen antifungal nail polish should be avoided during pregnancy. If treatment with Batrafen antifungal nail polish is necessary while breastfeeding, breastfeeding must be discontinued beforehand. Please inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to become pregnant. What should be considered in particular before using Batrafen antifungal nail polish? Please report the first signs of side effects to your doctor immediately. If you become pregnant during treatment with Batrafen antifungal nail polish, please inform your doctor immediately. Do not use artificial nails during treatment with Batrafen antifungal nail polish. To prevent the solution from drying out, Batrafen antifungal nail polish should be closed tightly after each use. The solution must not get onto the bottle thread in order to prevent the screw cap from sticking. Even if the fungal disease improves, the treatment with batrafenantifungal nail polish must never be changed or canceled without medical advice to avoid further deterioration or recurrence of the disease. If the complaints persist or if the expected success through the application does not occur, a medical consultation is required at the earliest. Keep Batrafen antifungal nail polish out of the reach of children. Can Batrafen antifungal nail polish be used at the same time as other medications? So far, no interactions of Batrafen antifungal nail polish with other drugs have been known. How and for how long should Batrafen antifungal nail polish be used? Unless otherwise prescribed, Batrafen antifungal nail polish is applied to the diseased nail in a thin layer every other day for the first month. This ensures that the nail is saturated with the active ingredient. In the second month of treatment, the application can be reduced to at least twice a week and from the third month of treatment to once a week. 

Method of application Batrafen antifungal nail polish is applied to the diseased nail. The following instructions must be observed: Before applying Batrafen antifungal nail polish for the first time, use scissors to remove as much as possible from the changed nail and roughen the diseased nail (eg with the sandpaper nail files provided). Once a week (e.g. on Saturdays), the entire layer of varnish is removed with a commercially available nail polish remover. Then as much of the changed nail material as possible is removed again. If the paint layer is damaged in the meantime, it is sufficient just repainting the chipped areas with batrafen. 

The duration of use depends on the severity of the infestation, but should not exceed a treatment period of 6 months. What undesirable effects, though not necessarily occurring in every patient, can Batrafen antifungal nail polish have? In very rare cases, when the skin around the nail came into contact with batrafenantifungal nail polish, reddening and flaking have been observed, which may also be an indication of an allergic reaction. If you experience any side effects other than those mentioned here, please inform your doctor or pharmacist immediately. How and for how long can Batrafen antifungal nail polish be stored? 1.5 g vials: do not store above 30º C. Vial with 3 g: 

Do not store above 25ºC. Store in the original package in order to protect from light. After opening the bottle, Batrafen antifungal nail polish can be used for at least 6 months if stored as intended. The expiration date can be found on the outer packaging under the note.

After the date given here, the drug must no longer be used.
