Cutimed Sorbion Sorbact superabsorbent dressing 10x10cm 10pcs  is a wound dressing that binds bacteria and fungi, using Sorbact® Technology. It consists of a Sorbact® contact layer coated with DACC™, combined with a superabsorbent core that absorbs and retains excess exudate, optimizing the wound environment.

Cutimed Sorbion Sorbact is indicated for use in the treatment of clean, contaminated, colonized, or infected wounds with high to excessive exudation, such as pressure ulcers, diabetic ulcers, leg ulcers, traumatic wounds, and surgical wounds. It is intended for use on superficial wounds.

  • Prevention and treatment of early infections -  Sorbact Technology-based wound dressings reduce bioburden and promote effective wound healing, with no known contraindications and a low risk of allergies.
  • Safe removal of bacteria, fungi and endotoxins -  Covering with Sorbact technology irreversibly binds and removes bacteria without releasing active substances into the wound. The development of bacterial or fungal resistance is not expected.
  • Effective against the most common resistant pathogens -  In vitro tests show that coating with Sorbact technology is able to inhibit the growth of the 5 main pathogens according to the WHO.
  • Excellent absorption capacity -  Absorption and retention of exudate from the wound reduces the risk of maceration and maintains a moist environment for wound healing.

If the clinical condition allows, the covering can be left in place for up to 7 days.

The package contains 10 covers.

Dosage and method of use

  1. Prepare the wound and surrounding skin according to local clinical practice.
  2. Choose the appropriate coverage for the wound. The wound pad should extend beyond the edges of the wound by at least 2 cm. Do not cut the cover.
  3. Aseptically remove the cover from the package.
  4. Apply coverage. Ensure that the green contact layer comes into direct contact with the entire wound surface so that microorganisms can bind to the dressing.
  5. Secure with an elastic bandage or skin-friendly tape. Ensure that the cover can expand under fixation.

The frequency of changing the dressing depends on the level of exudate and the overall condition of the wound and the surrounding skin. If the clinical condition allows, the covering can be left in place for up to 7 days.

How to remove it:

If the dressing adheres to the wound, moisten it to make it easier to remove and not disturb the healing wound.
