Daktarin 2% cream 30g

Daktarin is a synthetic antifungal preparation. It inhibits the growth and reproduction of fungi that cause skin and mucous membrane diseases in humans. It also has an antibacterial effect.

1. WHAT IS DAKTARIN AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR?

Daktarin 2% cream is a synthetic antifungal preparation. It inhibits the growth and reproduction of fungi that cause skin and mucous membrane diseases in humans.
It also has an antibacterial effect. The active ingredient is practically not absorbed through the skin. The itchiness that often occurs with fungal infections disappears very quickly in most cases. This effect can be demonstrated even before healing.
Areas of application: fungal infections of the feet, especially the spaces between the toes, and the nails. Daktarin is also used for other skin fungal diseases. However, the diagnosis and prescription must always be carried out by a doctor.

2. WHAT MUST BE CONSIDERED BEFORE USING DAKTARIN?

Daktarin must not be used
- if you are hypersensitive (allergic) to miconazole nitrate, related fungicidal drugs or any of the other ingredients of Daktarin 2% cream.

Take special care when using Daktarin.
First signs of side effects should be reported to the doctor. If severe skin irritation or hypersensitivity symptoms occur (particularly intense burning sensation, excessive itching), the treatment should be discontinued. Do not bring Daktarin 2% cream into contact with the eyes. Treatment without a doctor's prescription should be limited to athlete's foot and fungal nail infections.

If itchy blisters appear in the spaces between the toes or if larger parts of the skin are detached, this is a clear indication of a fungal infection. The disease often spreads from here to the foot and possibly to other parts of the body.

Dry, scaly patches can be seen on the soles of the feet, which are also an indication of a fungal infection.
In many cases the disease starts from an infection of the toenails. The fungal nail infection can be recognized by a significant thickening of the nail plate. Usually there is also a yellowish-white to gray discoloration.
Hygienic measures such as daily washing of the affected areas, daily changing and washing of stockings, as well as changing and disinfecting shoes in the case of skin and nail fungus diseases of the feet promote the treatment result.
If the symptoms persist or if the application does not achieve the expected success, medical advice is required as soon as possible.

Using Daktarin with other medicinal products
Please inform your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking / using or have recently taken / used any other medicinal products, including medicines obtained without a prescription.
Interactions with daktarin are very rare.

However, caution should be exercised with the following drugs, as their effects can be increased:
oral antidiabetic drugs (tablets used to treat diabetes)
phenytoin (anti-seizures)
Your doctor should monitor you if you are also using anticoagulants (anti-clotting agents). required.

Pregnancy and breast-feeding

3. HOW TO USE DAKTARIN?

Always use Daktarin exactly as directed. Please ask your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Unless otherwise prescribed, the indicated dosage must be adhered to.
Apply Daktarin 2% cream in the morning and in the evening thinly to the affected areas and rub in with your finger until the cream has penetrated completely or is evenly distributed. In the case of nail infections, cut the nails as short as possible before applying the cream and file the surface to make it easier for the cream to penetrate. After applying the cream, cover the nails with an airtight protective bandage (rubber finger pad and / or adhesive bandage).
Athlete's foot diseases: The duration of treatment for fungal skin diseases depends on the severity and extent of the disease and is generally 2-6 weeks. It is important to continue the treatment for at least one week after the healing date, despite the improvement in the symptoms (itching, burning sensation, etc.).
Fungal nail diseases: As a result of the slow growth of the nails, a significantly longer duration of treatment can be expected (rarely less than 3 months).

If you use more Daktarin than you should
Excessive use of Daktarin 2% cream can cause skin irritation. Please interrupt the application until the symptoms have disappeared.

If you forget to use Daktarin
Do not use a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

5. HOW TO STORE DAKTARIN?

Do not store above 25 ° C.
