Desloratadine Viatris is an anti-allergic drug that does not cause drowsiness. It helps control your allergic reaction and its symptoms.
Desloratadine Viatris is used in adults and adolescents from 12 years of age to relieve symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (inflammation of the nasal passages caused by allergies, such as hay fever or dust mite allergy). These symptoms include:
- sneezing,
- runny nose or itchy nose,
- itchy palate and
- itchy, red, or watery eyes.
Desloratadine Viatris is also used to relieve symptoms associated with urticaria (a skin condition caused by an allergy). These symptoms include itching and hives. Alleviation of these symptoms lasts throughout the day and helps you resume normal daily activities and sleep.
The package contains 10 tablets.
Dosage and method of use
The recommended dose of the product for adults and adolescents (from 12 years of age) is 1 tablet once a day. Swallow the tablet whole and drink it with water, it can be taken with or without food.
Duration of treatment: The duration of treatment depends on the type, course and duration of your difficulties. If you do not feel better within 7 days or if it becomes difficult for you, you must consult a doctor. The maximum duration of treatment without consulting a doctor is 3 months. If, even after this time, you still feel that you need to continue treating your problems, consult your doctor, who will assess your condition and decide on further treatment.
Composition
The active substance is desloratadine. One tablet contains 5 mg of desloratadine.
The other ingredients are: magnesium stearate, sodium lauryl sulfate, colloidal anhydrous silica, microcrystalline cellulose and pre-swollen corn starch. The coating layer of the tablet contains: polyvinyl alcohol, indigo carmine aluminum lacquer (E 132), orange yellow aluminum lacquer (E 110), macrogol, talc (E 553b) and titanium dioxide (E 171).
Contraindication
Desloratadine is not suitable for children under 12 years of age. It is not recommended to use Desloratadine Viatris if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
