Composition of the fragrance
The opening notes of the fragrance are carried on a fresh wave of flowers and bergamot, which is then gradually mixed with a trio of flowers led by rose, jasmine and iris. Earthy tonka beans and exotic vanilla pods take care of the final blending of all ingredients into a harmonious whole. 

The story of the fragrance
The fragrance Guerlain Shalimar bears the name Shalimar, which in Sanskrit means a passionate love story. This took place four centuries ago between the emperor and the princess, for whom the ruler had the Shalimar Gardens built.

In 1925, Raymond Guerlain was inspired by the flowing waters of these famous gardens when he created the beautiful bottle for this fragrance. No wonder it won first place at the International Exhibition of Modern Art and Industrial Production in Paris.
