Imutest to detect allergy, based on IgE antibodies, is intended for all people who suspect an undesirable allergic reaction to milk. Imutest is used as an aid in the diagnosis of increased sensitivity to this allergen. Only a small blood sample is needed to perform the test, the acquisition of which is hygienic and minimally unpleasant.

In allergy, the immune system reacts to contact with the allergen by producing IgE antibodies. Imutest to determine milk allergy detects elevated levels of IgE antibodies specific to cow's milk protein from a blood sample. This is the most common allergy in children under 3 years of age. Over the years, it can subside, and in adulthood, a person who suffered from this allergy in childhood may tolerate milk. The most common allergen is beta-lactoglobulin. Symptoms tend to be cutaneous, affecting the digestive and respiratory tract. Skin symptoms include itching, redness, hives, swelling, rapid flare-up of atopic eczema. Digestive problems include vomiting, abdominal pain and diarrhoea. Respiratory symptoms include acute rhinitis, acute conjunctivitis, narrowing of the larynx and acute bronchial contraction.

Dosage and method of use

  1. Turn over and remove the blue lancet protective cap. Place the white end to your fingertip and press gently until it clicks.
  2. Massage your finger towards the tip to create a large drop of blood. Place the collection tube and let it automatically fill to the mark.
  3. Place the tip of the hole tube in the smaller well of the test cartridge marked with the blood drop symbol. The sample is automatically absorbed into the backing.
  4. Remove the screw cap of the vial and pour the detection solution into a larger, unmarked well on the test cassette. Wait 15 minutes.
  5. After 15 minutes, pull the blue stop completely to activate the test device.
  6. Wait another 15 minutes, then your results will be ready.
