The Prima Home self-diagnostic test is intended for the semi-quantitative detection of C-reactive protein (CRP) from a whole blood sample . The test can be used for signs of infection or inflammation, such as fever, headache and weakness, or to monitor the healing process after surgery and minor injuries. The test can also be used to monitor the effectiveness of treatment. You can do it at any time of the day and it will give you the result in 5 minutes .

C-reactive protein and its functions in the body

C-reactive protein (CRP) is an acute-phase protein produced primarily by the liver, the concentration of which increases as a result of injury, infection, and inflammation . Although CRP is not a specific marker of a particular disease, it is currently used as a general diagnostic marker of infection and inflammation , as well as to monitor patient responses to treatment and in the postoperative course. In bacterial infections, the level of CRP in the blood is high, while in viral infections it is slightly elevated. A C-reactive protein value can therefore be a useful tool to determine the cause of an inflammatory condition . Monitoring CRP levels over time helps assess the effectiveness of treatment and the patient's healing process. The level of CRP in the blood reaches its highest concentration value between 24 and 48 hours after the first signs of infection/inflammation appear and then decreases if there are no complications.
