Prospan syrup releases mucus in the airways, facilitates expectoration and relieves cough . It is used to treat acute airway inflammation accompanied by cough. Prospan syrup is a herbal medicinal product and its active ingredient is dry ivy leaf extract . It can be used by children and adults. It is not recommended for use during pregnancy and lactation.
Dosage
Children under 1 year of age take 2.5 ml of syrup twice a day. Children aged 1-5 years use 2.5 ml of syrup 3 times a day. Children between 6-9 years of age use 5 ml of syrup 3 times a day. Adults, adolescents and children over 10 years of age take 5 ml of syrup 3 times a day.
The duration of treatment depends on the type and severity of the symptoms, but treatment should last for at least a week even with mild airway inflammations. Treatment should be continued for 2 to 3 days after symptoms have cleared to ensure its success. If you feel unwell within 5 days (children under 3 days) or if you feel unwell, you should consult your doctor. If your symptoms persist for more than 7 days, see your doctor.
Ingredients
The active substance is Hederae helicis foil extractum siccum (700 mg dry ivy leaf extract 5-7.5: 1) in 100 ml syrup. Extracting agent: ethanol 30% (w / w).
The other ingredients are potassium sorbate, anhydrous citric acid, crystallizing sorbitol 70%, xanthan gum, cherry flavor, purified water.
Notice
Prospan contains 70% crystallizing sorbitol. If you have been told by your doctor that you have an intolerance to some sugars, contact your doctor before taking this medicinal product.
