1. WHAT STOPANGIN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
It is used in adults and children over the age of 8 to disinfect the oral cavity and pharynx in inflammatory and infectious diseases or in oral surgery, for oral hygiene and to suppress bad breath.

Stopangin can be used as an adjunct in the treatment of antibiotics in streptococcal angina.

2. BEFORE YOU TAKE STOPANGIN
Do not take Stopangin
  • if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to hexetidine or any of the other ingredients of Stopangin
  • in laryngitis and dry pharyngitis (atrophic dry pharyngitis)
  • in children under 8 years
Take special care with Stopangin
  • in pregnant and lactating women
Interaction with other medicinal products
Please tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking or have recently taken any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pregnant and breast-feeding women should only use the product on the advice of a doctor. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.
 
Driving vehicles and operating machines
Drivers are not advised to drive within 30 minutes of use.
 
Important information about some of the ingredients of Stopangin
The preparation contains 80% by volume of ethanol 96%. Each dose contains up to 0.1 g of ethanol.

3. HOW TO USE STOPANGIN
Unless your doctor tells you otherwise, the medicine is given 2-3 times a day. Use the product for a maximum of 7 days without consulting a doctor.

In angina and other more serious diseases, the medicine does not replace antibiotic treatment.
 
Use after or between meals.

Instructions for use
The product is dispensed from the vial by a mechanical nebuliser and applicator (see Figure A)
  1. If a rotary applicator is included, remove the applicator from the plastic bag using scissors or a similar tool (see Figure B).
  2. Check the integrity of the applicator. If the applicator is damaged in any way, it cannot be used.
  3. Remove the protective cover from the mechanical sprayer.
  4. In the case of a rotary applicator, turn the tube to a position perpendicular to the applicator button and then place the applicator on the bottle (see figure C), in the case of a fixed applicator, place the applicator on the bottle (see figure D).
  5. Press about 2 to 3 times before the solution is drawn into the nebulizer and after spraying starts spraying.
  6. Insert the end of the applicator into your mouth and, while holding your breath, press the applicator button twice so that one dose points to the right and one to the left. Hold the spray vertically when using.
The nebulized solution is not inhaled or swallowed! The product must not get into the eye!
Before use, wash the oral applicator with hot water and always check the integrity of the applicator. Any damaged applicator cannot be used.
 
The product can be used in children older than 8 years only if it does not prevent a foreign object (applicator) in the mouth and if they are able to cooperate, ie they are able to hold their breath when injecting the product.
 
If you take more Stopangin than you should
In case of overdose or accidental ingestion by a child, consult a doctor.

If you forget to take Stopangin
Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.

If you have any further questions on the use of this product, ask your doctor or pharmacist.
 
4. POSSIBLE SIDE EFFECTS
Like all medicines, Stopangin can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

After use, a burning sensation of the oral mucosa may appear temporarily, which will disappear in a short time. Occasionally, there may also be a change in taste and smell. Exceptionally, in hypersensitive persons, an allergic reaction may occur (at the site of direct contact with congestion, swelling, blisters to blisters, pablans, ulceration and bleeding) or short-term spasms of the vocal cords and trachea, or to respiratory disorders.

5. HOW TO STORE STOPANGIN
Keep out of reach and sight of children.
Do not store above 25 ° C. Store in the original package in order to protect from light. 
Do not use Stopangin after the expiry date which is stated on the carton. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.

Medicines should not be disposed of via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to dispose of medicines no longer required. These measures help to protect the environment.
 
6. ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
What Stopangin contains
- The active substance is hexetidine 1.92 mg in 1 ml.
- The other ingredients are: star anise essential oil, eucalyptus essential oil, bitter lemon oil, sasafras essential oil, peppermint oil, methyl salicylate, saccharin sodium monohydrate, levomenthol, glycerol 85%, ethanol 96%.
