Surgispon is an absorbable gelatinous sponge, sterile, malleable, water-insoluble designed to quickly stop bleeding. It has a porous structure that activates platelets. It acts as a catalyst for the formation of fibrin. Can be used in both dry and wet conditions. It is pyrogen-free and biocompatible. It is made of highly purified premium gelatin material for use in various surgical procedures. When applied to bleeding mucous areas, it liquefies within 2-5 days. Dimensions are 1 x 1 x 1 cm. The package contains 32 pieces.
Dosage and method of use
Surgispon can be used dry or saturated with saline salt solution. A piece of Surgispon mushroom cut to the desired size, either dry or saturated with sterile isotonic sodium chloride solution (sterile saline solution), can be applied with light pressure directly to the bleeding site.
Composition
Surgispon contains highly purified gelatin material.
